PARA GUIDE
The visiting Pilots best way to take in the great opportunities to be found here
A great idea for the visiting paraglider pilot or paratourist. Get up to date information on all the sites within the immediate area. Let the guide staff interpret the mystery of the micrometeorology. The guide staff at Pegasus will give you full knowledge of the do's and don'ts concerning flying in our area.

We offer tours to three different regions

  1. The Home tour which consists of the flying sites around Parrsboro from Economy Mt to Cape Chignecto
  2. New Brunswick's Fundy Shore which consists of Alma and Dennis Beach
  3. The outer circle which takes in flying sites in Northern Nova Scotia in cluding High Head ( the highest spot on mainland NS), Green Hill and Cape Breton ( relatively undeveloped flying territory)

Season to Visit
All seasons are good. The summer and fall are the most predictable but suprisingly the winter offers some of the best sea thermal flying. You will be utterly amazed at the quality of the air and the distance and altitude that these conditions allow.

Cape Chignecto, NS from 300m asl. The launch is dead centre in the photo. The cliffs run 20 km. Tidal range here is serious and makes for tricky conditions for outlanding.

Dennis Beach is a new addition to the Paratour section. It is located in New Brunswick and together with Alma make a good excursion. This is a long coastal ridge in a bay which directs the winds directly on shore given half a chance.
Economy Mountain, near Parrsboro, has seen some amazing flights. Good thermal generation in front of the east facing launch and good potential for cross country Fox River, near Parrsboro, is a low bank on average it is the most productive site around since the prevailing winds are south westerly's. Flights have been made here as far as you can see in the picture. Coastal cliffs are smooth and range from 15 m to 150m.
